The Office of Disciplinary Counsel

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel is a separate and independent body that serves as the Kosovo Judicial Council and the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council. As far as the judicial system, the Council is responsible for conducting investigations into allegations of unprofessional behavior of judges and lay judges and the presentation of evidence and the case at the Disciplinary Committee of professional misconduct.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel is responsible for the initiation of an investigation against judges and lay judges, whenever there is reasonable suspicion of misconduct, as well as to provide recommendations and presentation of evidence at the Disciplinary Committee in connection with the disciplinary violation.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel shall initiate investigations in the Office of Disciplinary Counsel after signing an appeal by any person or entity. The own-initiative when there is a reasonable suspicion that a judge or juror professional misconduct.

All complaints, regardless of their origin, apply for an investigation by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel.
